How to Tame Frizz and Beat Humidity for Perfect Hair

What Causes Frizz?
Have you ever had a leaky roof? It’s caused by water getting under the shingles and flooding the wood underneath. The wood swells and the shingles loosen, allowing more water to enter. According to WebMD, your hair’s outer layer--the cuticle--looks like a shingled roof. If yours hair is dry or treated harshly, the “shingles” on the cuticle lift and allow moisture in, causing the hair to expand (just like wood does) and appear frizzy.
